12.1 Having Adoration Even in the Busy Seasons

It is interesting that this was the week that we read a portion of Thomas Kelly’s text “Becoming a Holy Sanctuary of Adoration,” with it being a tough couple weeks, it spoke deeper than I think it would have previously. For the last couple of months I have been giving my fear, anxiety, and control to God daily. The last couple weeks have been tough fully giving it to God though. I have had a lot going on in my personal life, while trying to manage being  a wife, mother, pastor, counselor, missionary and student. It has felt more heavy lately, but this weeks activity reminded me to stop have adoration for our Father.

This last week, I have made a point to have a time of adoration during my daily times of prayer. It is hard to be anxious when I am praising the Lord with adoration. This activity renewed that sense of need for daily adoration of our Creator. I plan to continue to use this in my daily prayers, because I have seen the positive impacts of doing so.

I absolutely loved the statement from this passage “perpetually bowed in worship while we are also very busy in the world of daily affairs[1] and actually had it highlighted in my book before knowing about this specific assignment. In this world we have so much going on and at times we neglect what is most important, our time with God. This encourages us to make time for him even in the busy seasons of life. Personally, I talk to YHWH all throughout the day, even with the simple or “silly” stuff. He cares what we have to say, he wants to hear about our day and be present throughout it all. He is our Father, and every good father just wants to know how their kids are doing and wants to hear about it all. When I started talking to God more frequently, the more natural it became and the easier it has become to discern his voice.
